My Baby Chick...

This is Oona, the baby chick which I have chosen from the bunch. Every chick does in fact have their own distinct personality and mine although stand-offish, stands with the most grace and beauty in her features. I will most certainly be annoying her with constant attention to ensure she will eventually enjoy our visits.

The Colors in the Details

The Colors I choose for the week. Nothing better then the colors of nature, but within these photos holds amazing shades of gray, brown, and orange. I do obsess over the smaller details but it is these small parts which create the beautiful whole of our landscape.

Embedded Vintage Compass

I take pleasure in the discovery of old vintage items, so when a unusable compass found its way into the trash, I took it upon myself as a goal of finding this piece a proper home. With great delight I found a way to frame its beauty of timeless aging, and decided to hand whittle a exotic wooden cocobollo shell. To add to its make-shift appearence, I accompanied it with a braided yarn and leather chain, with the bottom half rapped in waxed cord. Most of this necklace is indeed recycled. But through this attempt, I hoped to have given back the life to these unusable scraps by adding a little charm and proper craftsmenship to the mix.

Recycled Leather wallets with Wooden Clasp

Since I continuously have scraps of leather and wood laying around the studio, I decided it was time to deliberate and think of a way to put them to use. So now I present to you the new and improved recycled leather branded wallets. Indeed every aspect of this wallet has been recycled and reused.

Handmade Rustic Purple Leather Clutch

This is the new addition to the team of rustic leather clutches.  The branding on the front of this bag was from the cattle ranch from where this particular hide came from. Yes I am indeed an animal lover, but while many discard these pieces, I take great pride in using every aspect of the material.

With any material, the user should show great respect and admiration. No resource is endless, and most certainly natural resources, considered once living resources, should be used with great care and veneration. One must understand the actual presence of life that these natural materials hold is extremely precious.

The Interior of this clutch has no lining because even the back side of a hide is stunning. I purposefully chose to expose the inner-workings of this handmade product to frame all aspects of this exquisite hide.

While I Have Been Away...

Sorry for my absence in posts
the reason for my departure was due to the ten new additions to the family. Adorable, this must be shared…

Saddened at the thought they will never again be this tiny and adorable, a baby chick photoshoot was most certainly needed. The names beside the baby chicks are the names that each family member has chosen. Ten baby chicks for ten different family member, each gets their own. None of which is mine.

Leather Combinations

To create a cohesive collection I first start with becoming inspired with the materials. I always pick one pop of color to be the main piece to the collection. In this case the light purple hide is the main hide, while the tones of grays and browns are my accents. I often see people selecting nothing but beautiful or colorful hides to work them into a collection together. In my personal opinion, if you add to many key players into the mix, the individual one is unable to take the spot light. Through these minor mistakes of getting to crazy with color a collection can start turning from classy to chaotic.

New Lathed Creations

These are the new exotic wood pendents. I am working up towards a line of these lathed pendents to give people options in both the size and materials used. What I love so much about these, is that not a single one looks alike, they each have unique and distinct qualities which set them apart from any other pendent.

The Elegance Of Old Age

With my love for this extensive search of inspiration, I decided today was the day to take a closer observation of my beloved creature. Pony, ten years of age, has grown more charming with passing days. The mixture of silver gray with his brindle coat has set him to high rankings on my chart of favorite inspirations. He has been there through all of my adventures which led me to who I am and what I try to project today. Therefore I believe he might be that one true inspiration which has never failed to keep me intrigued and searching for more.

Hand-sanded Stimming Pendent

I began this line of Stimming pendents. Stimming refers to self-stimulation, a repetitive movement which we often find ourselves doing in order to comfort or sooth nerves. At first I questioned if it would be taken well from our projected audience. The good news is that people have found that these simple pendents have been working. The inside of the pendent concaves don't to allow your thumb to run smoothly over its finish. It is a piece which people don't seem to truly understand unless they experience it themselves.

Photography In Fields of Gold

We have been searching for new places to step foot and search for todays inspiring color palette and textures. Fields of corpses of golden rods became our fixation of performance. With a light wind blowing within the field, we saw the magic in these long stemmed figures dancing in the breeze.

Hand-Cut Leather Detailed Clutch

The first of its kind. A small hand-cut leather over-lay clutch. Name, yet to be determined. It is a small hand held purse with a hand tied knotted clasp. From this product I hope to create a new line of accessories inspired by the idea of overlaying materials. This particular bag has been gifted to the mother of my dearest love, for Christmas. Always supportive in every way, she now struts her stuff with her newly hand-crafted clutch. I make a point that each item falls into the hands of its rightful owner, so the first of many clutches belongs to the one who has given the love and encouragement to follow my dreams and create these one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art.

In This Twist of Creative Souls

Never has just one mind conquered a dream alone. It takes not only the work of the creator and his workers to bring to life a vision, but for the viewers to want and desire to see more, hear more, and be apart of the dream. The more who reach out to join our determination to re-spark inspiration, the further  we fall into this wonderland of handmade artistic creations.

Handmade Steampunk Chukka Boots

These are my hand-crafted leather steampunk chukka boots, made for my collection during my Senior year at Savannah College of Art and Design. They were on display for a year at SCAD but now they are in my rightful possession and placed upon my size 38 foot. They are not only comfortable, but handmade, and the perfect addition to my wardrobe. I hope for the day I see others walking around in these wearable works of art.

Subtle Approach Of Spring

The smell of spring in the air makes me excited for natures approaching performance of coming to life, and bringing the feeling of new beginnings.  Mesmerized with the world around me, I live for the perfection of the transformation in the changing of seasons. Its that subtle approach of the magic of Spring.
